BE VIGILANT
Beware, Beware, Beware!
15th October - For three weeks in a row, the use of Green Belt for housing has been stated as a possibility by politicians- twice by Ann Coffey and once by the South Reddish councillor, Peter Scott.
We have been expecting this since last year's desperate attempt to stop the Government's Bill on Planning Reform from becoming law.
Last week I wrote a letter to the Stockport Express in answer to Ann Coffey's comments, which were instigated by the then Housing Minister, who has since been relegated to the back benches. No, it wasn't for what she said in Brinnington.
In all fairness, our councillors have supported our efforts to protect Reddish Vale Country Park and are in the middle of a Scrutiny of the management at present.
The new Planning Law can legitimately rob people of Public Land.
Until it is repealed we have to fight even harder for our Vale and I will be asking Councillor Scott to clarify his remarks in this week's Express.
I would urge everyone who wants to protect Reddish Vale Country Park to write to councillors and to Ann Coffey MP and Andrew Gwynne MP
You will also note, from the Express, that 20 yrs ago, just after the success of the Save the Vale campaign, Woodhall Fields was being eyed up as a site for a snow dome. This is where we came in!
The Mountain Bike Park plan has been routed. It ain't going to stop.
This is where you come in!
