Bird Walk

The weather was perfect for the mornings bird walk on Sunday 21st October. There was a good turn out for the walk including a couple of familiar faces from the Hatton Hill Sanctuary. Everyone was keen to see the kingfishers, but as usual they had gone into hiding when we arrived, although we did hear them calling and were seen after the walk. I can't remember how many different types of birds we spotted it was 47 or 57, including cormorants, a goldcrest, tree creeper and a buzzard circling high in the sky. After the walk visitors were invited to make fat balls to take home for their own garden birds.

Thanks to the staff and volunteers from the Vale and the Local RSPB group for their expert advice and the fat balls.
