Christmas Crafting
By Mary Dutton
It was cold, wet and I must admit I don't think anyone expected many people in the Vale for the Craft Day, so how surprised was I that people were actually waiting to come in and start crafting. Not only cards, but also badges and fridge magnets.
We had quite a busy day all told, with over twenty or so people coming in. One of the first was Olivia and Jack, in fact the first three little girls were all called Olivia, so that was easy for me to
remember. I think Isaac (hope I remembered right) I can't say what they were making because I don't want to spoil any surprises for anyone, all I will say is they came with their
Grandparents from Sheffield. I am sure I will not spoil any surprises when I say that although we made Christmas badges and things, Richard (Olivia's dad) made himself, 'a one off badge', so when you see a man with a badge on saying Ranger 1, please don't think that it's our new boss, just say, "hello Richard".
Later on Lois and Anya came in to do some crafting. If you look at the photos you will see just how talented some of
these young crafters are. I am afraid I have forgotten the names of the family that came in, although Ellie seems to sound about right for one of the children. Also the mum who
really enjoyed her card making, although her little girl was too shy to come in, maybe next year.
Also Father Christmas's post box arrived from I don't know where, but as last year, if you post a letter in it you will receive a letter from the big man himself.
Oh yes we also had another arrival today, a wonderful Christmas Tree that Reddish Vale Farm very kindly donated to the Centre, so a big "THANK YOU" to them.
So all in all we had a busy, but wonderful day, thanks to everyone who came down and if I have forgotten to mention you, or spelt names wrong please accept my apologies, and a quick reminder that the calendars are selling quickly and we have some wonderful Poinsettias for sale.
Take care and hope to see you at the next craft day on,
