HAPPY HOLIDAYS
The school holidays are almost upon us now. More young people than ever will be enjoying the Vale just as their parents did. We all know that a minority of badly-adjusted teenagers can make life very unhappy, more so for other youngsters than for adults.
We as adults must keep an eye on what goes on and lead by example. We have to shrink the distance that some youngsters see as a gulf between the generations.
We have our police officers as back-up if we encounter a situation that we, as responsible citizens, cannot handle. Your local policing team telephone number is 856 9786. This number is useful to report a persistent problem. There is also a police "surgery" at Morrisons cafe on each Tuesday lunchtime.
For "incidents" including motorbikes in the Vale or any situation that you think could get out of hand call 872 5050 and give the location as either Reddish Vale Road or Northumberland Road depending on where you are in the Vale.
For emergencies call 999. If the emergency is someone with a gun don't forget to say that there is a gun in the Country Park and try to get a description.
Remember that children are happier when adults are perceived to be in control of the situations wherever they are. A fearful person can very soon turn into a violent person.
Your local PCSO is Chris Noble PCSO 65513. If you wish to discuss concerns with him you can call the local policing team or you can e-mail him at christopher.noble@gmp.police.uk
You can also e-mail Reddish Police Station at: stockport.northnpt@gmp.police.uk
