Lantern Making

People gathered from all over Stockport today to "willow weave" as the man from the Manchester Evening News called it. We were actually doing the very last lantern making session for our 10 year celebration of the Brinnington Lantern Procession.

I finally remembered to take names of those taking part so here goes, we would like to say hello and thank you to; Jason, Nature, Terri, Callum, Declan, Liam, Emma and last but not least Nicola. Along with all their families. When I say all over Stockport, we had families from High lane and Brinnington, also a lady from Reddish who had nephews with her from Didsbury, so we can be accused of spreading the word about this super event.

Yes, we had a good old sticky time but the lanterns and butterflies that were made were really fantastic.

As usual we got everyone joining in, with some of the relatives making the shapes to fill any spaces in the lanterns, while others were busy building the things. So now we all have to wait for is Saturday. Please keep everything crossed for good weather, we hope to see you all there enjoying the parade and the firework display after. Don't forget, meet at First House 6.30, ending up at Brinnington Park on Northumberland Road where after a bit of something to eat, the fireworks! See you all on Saturday.
