Yule Logs

By Mary Dutton

Oh we had such a busy weekend, we were in Brinnington Park, then on Sunday we were in the Vale decorating Christmas logs.

Now just let me think, there was Donna, Blitzen, oh no! sorry they are Santa's Reindeer's aren't they. No we had Sarah, Charlotte, Tom and his baby brother Laurence, Joshua and his dad (who works in Woods), Joel and his brother Reece (hope you are feeling better Reece) to name but a few decorating Christmas logs.

It was really non stop but great to

see the very proud faces of those people who took part, "I'm not a bit creative or I'll never be able to do it", just look at the photos of the finished logs, well done everyone you were all stars, creative ones at that. It was the first time we had done it in Brinnington

and the word travelled fast. We had a lot of folk from Brinnington coming down to have a go and renewing themselves with the vale again. Peter was down having a go with great success. One draw back, well no two, it was absolutely freezing on Sunday and unfortunately doing logs doesn't really generate a lot of warmth and of course we were expecting Brian there, we thought we were just going to assist the Yule Log Master. Hope you arrived back in Britain safe and sound Brian.

All in all though it was a good fun day and as I have already said, just look at the wonderful logs and smilling faces of all who came down. Just before I finish can I thank Phil, our fantastic Photographer.

Thanks to you Mary and to all the staff in the Vale for organising this event, Phil
